This is what the Embassies will present at Dutch Design Week
It is almost time again, Dutch Design Week (DDW)! This year, the nine-day design festival takes place from 16 to 24 October, spread over more than 100 locations in Eindhoven! As of today, the DDW programme with all exhibitions and events is online at ddw.nl. What can you expect from World Design Embassies? Read it below!
Live programme
After a fully digital edition of DDW20, all Embassies are ready for a physical programme! This year, no square eyes from wandering around in the virtual expo but wandering around again in Eindhoven. The programme of all eight Embassies can be found in the online DDW programme as of today. In the run-up to DDW, this programme will added to, but you can already get inspired and plan your route!
First stop? The labyrinth in the Klokgebouw, curated by former Chief Government Architect Floris Alkemade!
Labyrinth: The art of changing direction
Former Chief Government Architect Floris Alkemade is one of the three ambassadors of DDW this year. On behalf of the College of Government Advisors and together with World Design Embassies, Alkemade describes the urgent challenges we face as a country. As an ambassador project, Alkemade presents a special exhibition in the form of a labyrinth: “The road to the future is not a straight line, but a continuous search, wandering and changing of direction. A project about finding new paths and the importance of improvisation, daring and imagination. With special attention to complex issues such as climate change, loss of biodiversity, but also housing shortage, ageing and loneliness.

Embassy of Circular & Biobased Building
